Select a video or audio file, choose the video language and speaker count, then create an editable subtitle draft in the browser.
Free AI subtitle pricing policy
MagicSub Studio currently provides AI subtitle drafts, speaker separation, timeline review, and subtitle file exports for free, without usage limits or per-minute billing. It is a browser tool for subtitle and timeline files, not a rendered-video service that burns captions into MP4 files.
What is currently free
Review speaker lanes, current subtitle text, timing fields, timeline blocks, split/delete tools, and undo/redo controls.
Download SRT, VTT, TXT, Premiere Pro XML, DaVinci Resolve FCPXML, and Final Cut Pro FCPXML packages with all-speaker and per-speaker files.
Limits MagicSub Studio does not currently use
- No monthly credit balance or monthly minute allowance.
- No per-minute billing for subtitle generation.
- No MagicSub watermark inside exported subtitle files.
- No paywall for SRT, VTT, TXT, XML, or FCPXML downloads.
- No requirement to upload the original video or audio file to the server.
Why this can be free
MagicSub Studio is not built around server-side video hosting, server-side media streaming, or server-side rendering of long videos. The selected media file is used in the browser for subtitle creation and review, while the server stores the subtitle job data needed for the editing workflow.
This cost structure is different from services that process every user's media on server GPUs. The tradeoff is that first-run model downloads, network speed, browser support, and the user's computer performance can affect processing speed.
Ad areas may appear on parts of the site to help cover operating costs. If the free policy changes, the site guidance and terms will be updated so users can review the change.
Frequently asked questions
Is MagicSub Studio really free?
Yes. MagicSub Studio currently provides AI subtitle drafts, speaker separation, timeline review, and subtitle file exports for free, without usage limits or per-minute billing.
Are there monthly credits or time limits?
MagicSub Studio currently does not use monthly credits, per-minute billing, or a subtitle-generation time balance. Long videos may still take longer depending on browser and computer performance.
Does MagicSub Studio add a watermark?
No MagicSub watermark is added to exported subtitle files. MagicSub Studio exports subtitle and editor timeline files, not rendered MP4 videos with burned-in captions.
Is the original video uploaded to the server?
No. Original video and audio files are not uploaded to or stored on the server. If playback review is needed later, the user reconnects the local file.
